Hole

I wish I knew what to say
and knew what to do
the hole grows larger
and deeper
and I can't find a way out

I didn't dig this hole
I stumbled into it
and now I'm trapped
surrounded by dirt
and mud
and slime

what do I do?
what can I do?
I try to climb out
or just let the walls cave in
and bury me
and take my chances

I don't know

I'm scared

and I can't help but wonder
is this hole
this bottomless pit
meant to be my grave?
