Just got home from a fantastic ACW (American Championship Wrestling) show at the National Guard Armory in Laurinburg, NC. The Armory was easily sold out with over two hundred fans packed into the building. Here are the show results.

After the ring announcer, Ms. Connie, explained the rules (no throwing objects, no profanity, stay out of the ring, etc,), we all rose for the National Anthem and then it was time for some action in the ring.

Match one was a comedy match between a pimp-daddy wannabe named Old Skool, taking on a 300lb, pink tutu wearing dude from Los Angeles called "Lucious Lonnie". Lots of stalling and gay acting antics by Lonnie, who managed to cop feels on both Old Skool and the referee, along with the usual assortment of dirty tricks and shenanigans. Old Skool took a beating and with the crowd behind him, managed to come back and hit a big splash from the top rope to get the pin and the win. After the match, Old Skool brought a lady from the audience into the ring to dance with him. Lonnie, being a sore loser, wouldn't allow the celebration to happen and attacked Old Skool one more time, tossing him to the floor, before entertaining the rowdy crowd with some dirty dancing of his own. Very funny.

Next up was tag team action as the tag team of B.D. Productions (Brad Branson & Derk Douglas), accompanied by their manager, Justin Jackson, took on the team of Dave Renegade & Jimmy Parker. B.D. Productions is easily one of the best tag teams working the NC Indy scene these days. Last time I had the opportunity to see them perform, they were babyfaces. Now they're working as heels and it's a definite step up for this dynamic duo. Great back and forth action from both teams, who kept the action moving in the ring. In the end, Renegade went outside the ring after Justice Jackson and laid the manager out with a hard shot into the ringpost, followed by a stiff chair shot to the back. Meanwhile, in the ring, Brad & Derk took advantage of the distraction and used some classic double-teaming to take Parker down, thus allowing Derk to steal the pin and the win for his team. Very good match.

The third match was for the ACW United States Championship as Champion Alex Adonis defended the title against "Screaming Eagle" Andrew Graves, who was accompanied to the ring by Watchee & Johnny Eagle. Graves hasn't been wrestling very long, but he really looked good in there against Adonis, who is easily one ot the top wrestlers in the Indy's today. Both men had their working shoes on and it showed with a very fast paced and entertaining match. Lots of outside interference by both Eagle and Watchee, but to no avail for Graves. The end came when Graves attempted to hit a "Shades of Rey Mysterio" 619 on Adonis, who managed to move and block the impact before scoring with a big superkick to pick up the win. Alex Adonis retains the ACW United States Championship.

The next segment was promo time as Ethan Storm, ACW Light Heavyweight Champion Chris Steele, Scott Powers and Alexander Vanderbuilt came to the ring. They talked about their former associate, Cham Pain, who was scheduled for the event, but didn't show up. Chris Steele fired the crowd up with some great shots about the local sports team, the town of Laurinburg and North Carolina in general. And Storm talked about a match scheduled for later in the night, a First Blood match against Jack Hammer. Storm promised the crowd that it wouldn't be his blood they'd be seeing and how Hammer's days in ACW are limited. Before leaving the ring, Steele got into a trash talking moment with Ms. Connie. The Commissioner of ACW then came out and told Steele that he'd be defending the Light Heavyweight Championship tonight against a mystery opponent.

Another tag team match was next as Watchee & Johnny Eagle, accompanied by Andrew Graves, took on the team of Chief Red Thunder and dude who's name I didn't catch (the sound system at the Armory is lousy), but I believe they called him "Peanut". That's what the fans were chanting later on for him, so that's the name I'll use here. Another fun match as both teams worked hard and went back and forth. And the crowd was really into the antics of "Peanut", who reminded me a great deal of a "Pistol Pez Whatley" with his motions and expressions. And watching Graves arguing with two small boys in the crowd was just hilarious. In the end, Johnny Eagle used a steel chair ro lay out Red Thunder and get the pinfall victory.

More interview time as the masked tag team of Brute Force II came out to talk trash and insult the crowd. They insulted the audience with comments about how stupid they are because they're rednecks and indians. And here comes the response as local Native American icons "Warhawk" Dylan Kage and Ty Tyson, the ACW World Tag Team Champions, hit the ring. Lots of posturing by both teams and a match was made for later in the evening as Kage & Tyson will defend their titles in the main event against Brute Force II.

After a brief intermission, the next match was a "First Blood" match between "The Chisel" Ethan Storm and long time rival Jack Hammer. Storm, with his trademark claw hammer in tow, came to the ring accompanied by former ACW World Champion Scott Powers. Before the match began, Storm tried to wear cover his head with a cap, but the referee tossed it to the crowd. Next up, Storm and Powers tried to cover Storm's head with vaseline to prevent any bleeding during the match, but the ref was having none of it and called to the back for a towel to wipe the vaseline off of Storm's face. Finally, after much stalling and complaining, the match started and both men just went nuts, pounding each other, determined to draw blood.

In a fantastic move, Storm dropped Hammer down face first across the top rope and layed him out with a kick that sent Hammer to the floor and the tender mercies of Scott Powers, who pounded away at Hammer. The ref, noticing this, sent Powers to the back and away from the ring. Storm came to the floor and Hammer began to fight back in a great brawl that went all across the armory. Finally, Storm managed to lay out Hammer with a trash can lid and headed back to the ring to get his cloaw hammer, determined to end things once and for all. While Storm was occupied, the Commissioner came over and slipped a hammer to the fallen Jack Hammer. When Storm finally came back and was ready to lower the boom, Jack Hammer caught him with the hammer shot of his own. Storm went down and the referee spotted the blood pouring from Storm's head and called for the bell, thus giving Jack Hammer the win in a brutal and bloody affair.

The sixth match was for the ACW Light Heavyweight Championship as Champion "Mr. Pleasure" Chris Steele defended his title against a mystery opponent selected by the Commissioner, which turned out to be local favorite The Lumbee Warrior. Words can not do this match justice as Steele is just so damn good both on the mic and in the ring and the Lumbee Warrior is no slouch either by any means. These two men tore the roof off the house. I've said it before and I'll say it again - that Chris Steele is NOT in either the WWE or TNA right now is just a travesty. He's not the biggest man in wrestling, but pound for pound, he's definitely one of the very best. Steele was accompanied at ringside by manager Alexander Vanderbuilt, who has some of the best facial expressions and emotions at ringside. With every move in the ring, you could watch Vanderbuilt's face and just feel the pain. Classic. This match was just off the charts. The end came when Vanderbuilt was holding Warrior from outside the ropes on the apron. Steele went for a superkick, but Warrior moved and Vanderbuilt got nailed, taking a tremendous bump off the apron. Lumbee Warrior with a roll-up to get the pin and become the new ACW Light Heavyweight Champion.

And last, but not least, we had our main event, which was a match for the ACW World Tag Team Championship, with the champions, Dylan Kage and Ty Tyson defending their titles against Brute Force II. The crowd, which had been loud all night, found their second wind and really went ballistic for Kage and Tyson, who's every move and action was greeted by a cheer and chant. Lots of good action as Kage played the face-in-trouble role, taking a tremendous beating from the two masked men before tagging out to Tyson with the hot tag. Lots of double-teaming by both teams and lots of illegal switching by the masked men as well. In the end, Tyson was out on the floor and after laying one of the masked Brute Force guys out, Kage went to check on his partner. While Kage was checking on Tyson, the Brute Force guys switched and puled some "Twin Magic". And the illegal member of the masked team pinned Kage with a roll-up for the pin and the tag team titles. But then the Commissioner came out, having witnessed what happened and ordered the match restarted. Tyson rolled up one of the masked men and got the pin, thus allowing Dylan Kage and Ty Tyson to retain their tag team titles.

And that's the show. ACW always puts on a super show and tonight was no exception. Much kudos to the entire crowd at ACW for a great show and a great time. Well done, my friends. I can not wait for the next one...
