Monday Night RAW - January 5, 2004

Greetings all and welcome to the Wrestling Informer Monday Night RAW recap. I'm the Informer's resident degenerate and all around Salt-tosser, Doug M. Tonite, RAW is live on Spike TV from Memphis, TN. Jim Ross and Memphis's own Jerry "The King" Lawler are calling the action.

Let me do my Michael Buffer impersonation now. Are you ready? Are you ready? To all the RAW fans reading this around the world, to all the Salt Tossers and Wrestling Informants - It's time for RAW! It's the Night of Champions. Now, LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!

Ok, it's not quite the same in written form! Oh well. Let's do this! Let's get RAW!

We open with RAW GM Eric Bischoff whining and complaining to Coach about the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin. And here comes Mark Henry and Teddy Long. They want their Survivor Series favor tonite. The favor? Teddy gets to be GM of RAW for tonite. Eric agrees and hit's the road. It's the Teddy Long show tonite. Belee dat!

Teddy comes to the ring and does his usual racial routine. He trashes the white man and then starts trashing Memphis. Jerry Lawler takes offense and tells Teddy to shut his mouth. Jerry comes to the ring to stand up for his home town. Long calls the King a "cracker with a crown!". Jerry backs Teddy up -and here's Orton in. From behind, he nails Lawler with the RKO. The "Legend Killer" strikes again. Orton gloats as Teddy heads to the back.

We see Orton and Teddy. Here is Mark Henry.. He wants an IC-title shot - tonite. Teddy makes the match for later. Here's the "Sheriff of RAW" Steve Austin. He thinks RVD should get a shot. Tonite it's RVD versus Mark Henry. And the winner gets a shot at Orton next week. Teddy tells Austin to stay out of his business. Belee' dat! I don't think Austin is too intimidated. Heh!

Coach comes out to join Jim Ross in the announce position.

Rene Dupree (with Rob Conway) versus Spike Dudley

This is Spike's big return after being out for 4 months. Spike starts off by jumping onto Rene and throwing fist after fist. Rene just sort of tosses him off, working him over in the corner with chops. Spike ges splatted and suplexed. It's all Rene. Rene just continues to dominate, but Spike tries a sunset flip. Rene drops and grabs the ropes to get a 2 count. Spike does another roll up and this time, gets the pin.

Winner: Spike Dudley

The Dudley Boyz come out and lift Spike on their shoulders to celebrate. Here comes Ric Flair and Batista from the back. They totally decimate the Dudz and leave them laid out on the rampway. Evolution strikes again!
We see Trish plug the "WWE Originals" album, coming later this month. Trish's song is called "I Just Want To".

Chris Jericho is in the dressing room. Here comes Christian and he apologizes - he wants to make peace with Jericho. Jericho apologizes and they reflect on the past glory of Vitamin C! The World Tag Team titles. TLC. Ass-cream! They've got a match next. Vitamin C is back together.

We go back to last Monday Night RAW and take another look at the highlights of the Shawn Michaels - Triple H match for the World Championship. HBK gets the pin, but pins himself as well. Eric Bischoff makes the count. Winner and still champ - Triple H.

Jerry Lawler comes to the announce position and attempts to run Coach off. Here comes Teddy on the ramp. If Lawler threatens Coach or touches him, The King gets dethroned.

Vitamin C (Christian & Chris Jericho) versus The Super-Heroes (Hurricane & Rosey)

Christian starts off with Rosey. The S.H.I.T. hits a clothesline and tags off to Hurricane. doubleteam and the Hurricane gets 1. Jericho in and he and the former "Sugar Shane" go at it. Hurricane hits an inverted atomic drop, but Jericho lands some stiff kicks. Hurricane is in control, but gets sent to the floor. A doubleteam by Vitamin C. Jericho hits a big suplex in the ring. Christian in to continue the carnage with a big chinlock. Jericho tags back in and the blonde bombers doubleteam the superhero one more time. But Hurricane still has life as he hits a double-DDT on Christian and Y2J.

Rosey in with a slam and some clubbering. Samoan drop on Christian. Jericho is sent to the floor. Hurricane flies and lands on Chris. Rosey slams Christian and goes for the pin, but Christian gets the ropes. Christian in the corner as Rosey charges in. Jericho pulls Christian out of the way and Rosey eats steel. Jericho slams Rosey into the post. Christian hits the "unprettier" and gets the pin.

WWE REWIND: From HEAT last night, Test lays a liplock on Victoria. Victoria introduces her foot to Andrew's "testicles". A roll up and a win as Stevie Richards pins Test.

"I'LL SHOW YOU! YOU'LL SEE!"
Stevie Richards (with Victoria) versus Test

Test starts off by leveling Stevie and chasing Victoria around the ring and up the ramp. Stevie uses some fists, but Test lands a clothesline and plants the CEO of Stevie-Co. into the corner. Test works on the arm, but Stevie uses some fists and elbows to try and fight back. Facebuster by Stevie. A kick by Test and he goes after Victoria. Stevie rolls up Test for 2. Test levels Stevie with a big slam and is distracted by Victoria again. Stevie lands an elbow. Test goes for the slam, but Victoria distracts him one more time and Stevie rolls up Test for the pin.

Winner: Stevie Richards

Victoria is checking on Stevie and raises his arm in victory. Test hits Victoria with the big boot and she is laid out. Stevie goes psycho and beats the crap out of Test until the referees break it up. Test heads up the ramp, while Stevie checks on his "flower".

Here comes the Sheriff. Stone Cold Steve Asstin comes to the ring. He starts to make an announcement about the Royal Rumble. but HHH makes his presence felt. He micks Stone Cold for being Sheriff and compares Austin to Barney Fife and Roscoe P. Coletrain. He's having fun, but Austin isn't laughing. He's the sheriff and he's here to uphold law - Stone Cold's law.

He thinks HBK deserves a rematch. HHH thinks HBK Is a done deal. So, here come's Shawn Michaels. He gets in Hunter's face. Austin makes the match for the Royal Rumble. It's for the World Championship as HHH and HBK face off one more time. Austin leaves as HBK and HHH go nose to nose. From the ramp, Austin declares the match will be "Last Man Standing!". HBK turns to leave, and HHH slides in and nails HBK with the pedigree.

WWE WOMEN"S CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Molly versus Victoria

Molly comes to the ring and declares herself the winner since Victoria is unable to wrestle after getting kicked by Test. Here's Teddy on the big screen - he's got an opponent for Molly - it's non-title, but it's now:

Molly versus Trish Stratus

Trish charges the ring, but Mollly lands a knee. Molly stays in control with some hair-mares and a big suplex. Trish lands some elbows and gets the roll-up for two. And then she does it again. Trish hits a spinebuster. Molly does some clubbering. Trish hits a "chick-kick " and goes to the top. Here come Jazz from out of nowhere and she pushes Trish from the top. The ref calls for the bell.

Winner by DQ: Trish

Jazz and Molly put the double-team on Trish. Jazz attacks Molly and sends her to the floor. Jazz applies the "STF" to Trish. Here comes Chris Jericho and he runs Jazz off and checks on Trish. Trish realizes who it is, and pushes him away and heads up the ramp. Chris really looks hurt.
We see a little commercial paid for by the friends of Randy Orton, noting the stellar moments of Mick Foley, and making the claim that Foley went from Legend to coward. Randy Orton is the new "Hardcore Legend".

WRESTLEMANIA RECALL: 1998 - Pete Rose badmouths the fans of Boston, MA. Here comes Kane and he gives Rose a big tombstone.

# 1 CONTENDERS MATCH - INTERCONTINENTIAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Rob Van Dam versus Mark Henry (with Theodore Long)

Henry just starts off with power moves, shoving RVD around. RVD lands some shoulders and a kick and goes to the legs. Dropkick by RVD, but Henry responds with a big slam. And it keeps on - RVD uses the feet. Henry uses the strength. Henry goes to the outside and Teddy gives him a chair. Whammo! Henry nails RVD with the chair and the referee calls for the bell. Teddy starts raising cain and tells the referee that the match is "NO DQ" so re-start the match.

Here comes Steve Austin from the back on a four wheeler. He drives to the ring and chases Teddy Long around the ring and to the back. (Commercial Time) We're back and Henry has a big bearhug on RVD. He puts RVD down in the corner. Henry charges in and hits RVD's boots. RVD uses an "unique" leg-choke to put Henry down. Legdrop and rolling thunder. RVD gets the chair and hits a "van-daminator". Henry up and goes into full "wookie combat mode". RVD lands a great kick and goes to the top. A five star later, it's over as RVD gets the pin.

Winner: RVD

Here comes Teddy running down the ramp with Austin in hot pursuit. He chases Teddy until Teddy is caught between Austin and RVD. Austin puts Long in the ring. Teddy begs and pleads - offers a handshake. A big stunner by Stone Cold and it's time for a beer bash. He and RVD celebrate and drink.

Jericho is outside the ladies locker room. He knocks and has to talk to Trish. He's going in. Someone is in the shower, and he thinks it's Trish. Chris spills his guts and souls to "Trish", but as he's ready to leave - he hears a voice. It's not Trish, but Mae Young instead. She's wearing only a towel and shows him the "puppies". SPITTAKE!! Chris looks horrified as the puppies get closer and closer.

Kane comes to the ring and talks about the Royal Rumble. He calls the fans insects, and claim he only lost in the past because he trusted people. We see footage from last year as his brother, The Undertaker, eliminates Kane from the Rumble. Goes on Undertaker rant and then addresses Booker T. Booker took his spot at Wrestlemania last year. This year, Kane says he'll win the Rumble. Here comes Booker T. and he attacks Kane with some fists and a low kick. A messed up kick and Kane hits the floor. Booker gets the mic. He's in the Royal Rumble. Now, can you dig that, sucka!.

We see a shot of Bubba Ray and D-Von in the back. They look rough, but are headed for the ring.

JVC DIGITAL PLAY OF THE NIGHT: From the Survivor Series, Ric Flair and Batista are last minute entries to the Tag Team Turmoil match -win the World Tag Team Titles.

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
RIc Flair & Batista (champions) versus The Dudley Boyz

The Dudleys charge the ring and Evolution heads to the floor. Batista and D-Von start off. D-Von has the fists, but Batista uses a fist and puts the boots to D-Von. D-Von tags to Bubba and they do the double-team on Batista. Bubba lands some punches and hits a cross-body from the top. Flair in. Fists and chops fly, and Bubba hits the backdrop, floowed by a big splash in the corner. Big slam and Bubba gets 2. Action continues and Flair decides to go for the leg of Bubba.

Figure four by Ric. Bubba reverses, but Ric tags in Batista who keeps up the pressure. Flair back in and he stomps the leg and goes for a figure-four, but Bubba rolls him up for 2. It keeps on and D-Von misses a flying elbow attempt on Ric. Bubba does the flip-flop-fly on Ric. A 3-D for Batista by the Dudleys and Flair is introduced to the "Whassup!!". Set up and the Dudley's hit the 3-D on Ric. Here's Triple H to distract the referee and Batista comes in and powerbombs D-Von straight to hell. Ric lays the arm across D-Von and gets the pin.

Triple H climbs into the ring to check on Flair. Here comes HBK SHawnMIchaels and Shawn lays out Hunter with a superkick. HBK dances up the ramp and prays as the show ends.

Well, that's it for the recap. Another great show, playazs! Next week on RAW - more of the Sheriff Stone Cold Steve Austin. Eric will probably be back. Plus, for the IC title - it's RVD versus Randy Orton. More Jericho. More Christian. More Trish. And the return of Jazz. It should be good. Hell, this was good!
