Sunday Night Heat - 1/11/04 - Memphis, TN

What up again, my friends? It's time again for the Wrestling Informer Sunday Night Heat recap. As usual, I'm the Informer's resident degenerate and "Salt-Tosser" Doug Maynard with all the news, action, and excitement that is the WWE Sunday Night Heat! It's Spike TV's finest Sunday Night show. The guys calling the action are the Headmaster of Tough Enough, Al Snow and the Coach. Let's do it. TIme for some HEAT!

"Mr. Personality" Lance Storm versus Matt Hardy Version 1

Matt Facts: Matt prefers window seating on airplanes. Matt has never lost his credit card.

Matt starts to work on the arm, but Lance drops and Matt goes to the floor. Lance flies with a crossbody and levels Matt outside the ring. A baseball slide dropkick and RVD lands a big moonsault. Henry eats steel. Teddy Long gives Mark Henry a steel chair and Mark nails RVD with the steel. The referee calls for the bell, but acting-GM Teddy Long declares it a NO DQ match and demands the match restarted. Here comes Stone Cold Steve Austin on a 4 wheeler and he chases Teddy around the ring and up the ramp. Back to the match as RVD nails Henry with the Van-Daminator. Henty up and a big wookie-line to RVD. A big slam. Henry gets the RVD. RVD flies and kicks the chair. RVD to the top and hits the five star splash for the pin.

John comes back with a hurracarrana and Matt is tagged in for the doubleteam on Jindrak. Matt lands a legdrop for 2. Jndrak comes back with a stiff clothesline that knocks Matt to the floor.

Jindrak puts him back in the ring and gets 2. Cade in and he lands a stiff boot and works on the arm just a bit more. Jindrak in, and he hits Matt with a headbutt. Matt fights back with fists, but Jindrak puts a stop to him with an inverted atomic drop. John tagged in and he's flying with kicks and dropkicks for everyone. Several elbows by Orton. Val flies and goes to the top. Orton up and he catches the "porn star" on the top rope. Orton goes for a superplex, but Val pushes him off. Val's going for the "Money Shot" but Randy gets the knees up and Val hits hard. Randy hits the RKO and gets the pin.

Winner: Randy Orton.

A good show. Orton and Val put on a great match that could have easily gone either way. The Tough Enough guys are looking a great deal better than the last time I remember seeing them, and would be welcome additions to the Cruiserweight Division. No DIva's this week, but we got a taste of Mattitude, so it's not all bad. On RAW tommorow night - it's RVD versus Randy Orton for the IC title. Plus the return of Eric Bischoff. More names for the Royal Rumble. RAW is going to be on fire!

Well, that was the HEAT recap. I want to send a quick congrats to my boys on the Carolina Panthers who played a helluva game yesterday against St. Louis. My head was spinning for almost the entire game - it was that close. But the Panthers pulled it out and since I'm an old NC guy myself - all I can say is "Hell Yeah!" GO PANTHERS!

I'm Doug Maynard and that's the HEAT recap. Any questions or comments, contact me at either Doug28352@yahoo.com or at DougMaynard@wrestlinginformer.net. I'll be back tommorow night with the RAW recap, and probably an edition of "Tossing Salt" as well. We've got some "Who Am I?" winners to annnounce. Have a good night everyone and stay indoors. I was just looking at the weather report and guess what? It's cold out there. See you tommorow and take it light!
