Family Ties (Dark Shadows / WWE Crossover Fic) - Part 2

Family Ties (A WWE / Dark Shadows Crossover)

(In a dark crypt somewhere in Maine)

The grave-robber went meticicously about his work as he went from grave to grave, pushing aside the heavy concrete covers, to gain access to the bodies that rested in the coffins.

"Damn, I'm glad I've been working out! These muthas are heavy", though the sullen faced man. He moved about the tomb and quickly relieved each body of any jewelry or item that looked to be of any value. Quickly, a bag the man had sat by the opening of the crypt filled up with old jewelry and other valuables.

"And now, for the coup de' gras", thought the man as he looked for the lion's head with the ring in it's mouth. He had heard that this was the key to open a secret 'treasure room' and he was anxious to finish ransacking the old family crypt and get out of there.

He shined the flashlight around the dark walls of the family masoleum and there it was, a lion's head engraved into the wall with a ring hanging from the center of the lion's face. So small, he almost missed it in the darkness.

"Now, let's find out if the old stories are true", he thought as he reached for the ring and pulled on it. The ring easily pulled free from the concrete wall and, at first, nothing happened. And then, slowly, the man heard the sound of gears turning and was amazed to see a small doorway open in the walls of the dark crypt.

"Amazing!", he thought. He quickly ducked his head and went into the darkened room and shined the flashlight around. The room was empty, save for simple, darkened coffin laying in the middle of the room.

"Paydirt" thought the man as he moved quickly to the coffin to claim whatever treasures were held inside that dark box.

But he quickly realized that getting inside the coffin to claim the contents was not going to be as easy as he first thought because the lid was locked down with a series of various locks and chains.

"What the hell...??", he thought.

"If they think a bunch of locks and chains are going to stop Andy Singer, they got another thing coming", the man thought to himself. He quickly put the skills of a lifetime of criminal activities to work and in very quick fashion, had all of the locks and chains unfastened.

"And now, time to finally get the treasures of this 'Collins family', and be set for life", the man muttered to himself as he pushed the heavy lid of the coffin aside.

And suddenly, a hand moved forth from the coffin with an astounding speed and grabbed the man by the throat. A unique and golden ring flashed in the light of the fallen flashlight as the body of a man sat up in the coffin and held the helpless Andy Singer by the throat.

"You simple fool! How dare you!", the man in the coffin sneered at the helpless man he held in his grasp. "I was at peace. I was finally at rest.... and you dared.. you have disturbed my slumber..."

"Aaa.. " the man tried to grasp for air as the man rose from his coffin, never loosening his grip around the helpless man's throat, and he looked around.

"And I see you've been bothering members of my family as well. You idiot. You greedy, contemptous slime."

The man who had climbed out of the coffin looked at the scared face of the man he held in his hand.. and just sadly shook his head.

"I'm sorry for your stupidity... but maybe it's better this way."

The frightened man's eyes grew wide and his fear was even more intense, if possible, as he watched the dark haired man who he had freed from the coffin, stare at him intently. And then the eyes turned red and he saw fangs form in the mouth of the man.

That was all he saw as the dark haired man moved forward and quickly sank his fangs into the neck of the helpless grave-robber. For several moments, the room was quiet, save for a quiet suckling sound as the man who had been in a coffin, quickly drained the would-be criminal of of his blood.

And then, finishing his task, the dark haired man let the body drop to the floor of the masoleum. The trecherous criminal was still alive, but he was helpless and now unconcious. He quickly began to straighten himself and reached into the coffin, his former home for so many years, to remove a silver-tipped cane with a lion's head on it.

He moved quickly to pick up the fallen man's body and carried him on his shoulders to the door leading to the outside. He sat the man down and glared at the weakened man who was now beginning to regain conciousness. His eyes turned red as he told the man, "You will not remember any of this. You will leave this place and never return. And you will be haunted by nightmares for many years to come. Now... go!"

He dropped the barely concious Andy Singer to the ground and the darkened, frightened man, awkwardly and weakly, but with a will fueled by fear and anxiety, scampered off into the deep fog, falling several times as he fled, but quickly pulling himself back up and half running, half crawling, as he quickly hurried away.

And then the dark haired man went and picked up the bag of jewelry the now forgotten would-be grave robber had gathered. He quickly replaced all of the jewelry and other items with their proper owners and resealed each and every tomb in just a short matter of time. This task complete, the dark-haired man moved to the door of the crypt and stepped out into the thick fog and moonlight. After nearly thirty-five years of rest, he was back.

Barnabas Collins lived again.
