(Retro) Raw Thoughts - September 16, 2003

Raw Thoughts 9/16/03
Raw Thoughts

Last night was Monday Night Raw and I figured this would be a good time to just take a look back and make some comments regarding the show..

Everything Jericho and Christian said about Austin and his character is, sadly enough true. Still good to see Austin defend himself, but the best reason he could come up with for the stunner on Jericho was Jericho "insulted his manhood" and "hurt his feelings".. Come on now.

It's Jericho versus RVD versus Chritian at the PPV and Christian's IC title is up for grabs. It should be the match of the night (along with HBK/Orton) and I'd like to see RVD get the belt (as a reward for all that jobbing to Kane!)

First Goldberg Hype scene was beating Hogan for the WCW World Title. I'll bet Hogan really appreciated that..

The Dudleys versus LaResistance & Rob Conway. Who cares? But I am starting to like the French Fries a little bit more - I'd like to see them against someone other than the DUDZ! Spike sold the neck injury real well though!

Eric Bischoff & Al Snow hanging in the back quite a bit lately.. Who would have thunk it?

Mae & Moolah! Whoo-hoo! Mae plants a big kiss on Eric. I hope he had his shots updated..lol.. Well, we were warned and knew it was coming..

Hey Victoria, even if Moolah is a legend, don't applaude your opponent when she comes to the ring...

Actually for a couple of 80 plus year old women - Moolah & Mae are in fantastic shape and look really good.. I hope I get around that well when I'm 50.. lol..

Watch it Randy! I know you're a legend killer and all, but RKO'ing Moolah is almost certain to give you a big face pop.... Nothing excites the fans like beating up old women..

All this build-up for Lance Storm and they squash him and Goldust to the Thuggin' and Buggin' team (who really really suck!) The only good thing there was Teddy Long, but let him talk, dammit!'

Damn! HBK just slapped the taste out of Orton's face. But even he didn't get upset about what Orton did to Moolah.. Funny! Never even mentioned it.. But good build-up to their match on Sunday..

Rosey can't fly so he calls a cab.. Funny!

The Contract signing! Shane O'Mac needs to cut back on the caffeine - he just can't stand still. The elbow was really cool, but kind of ruined the suprise for the Al /Coach ringside commentary for later..

The handicap match was decent, but nothing special. But it was great to see Lita back . I never much was a big Lita fan, but she looked good.. Damn, she's HOT!!

Coach and Al come out to do commentary and JR and the Kings mic's don't work no more.. Funny. Espically Al dressed as the King!

I don't think Stacy really likes her boyfriend too much. Good to see Val get a win. Steiner versus Test still does nothing for me..

The King and Al wrestle and Jerry wins with a roll up. Did anyone else notice that Al started off "wrestling" even though he's the heel, and Lawler was the first to start throwing punches, but he's a "good guy!' - I like Lawler, but I hope Al just kicks his ass at Unforgiven.. Al Snow is God!!!

The big going away party - Jesus! I didn't think Hunter would ever shut up! He just went on and on.. Funy when the mic messed up though. And Goldy gets a slam on Hunter and he back-crawls up the ramp. WOW! Sure makes me want to see the PPV (not!)

This show could have been good - it should have been, but it just seemed to drag on and on - the RVD / Jericho match was a great way to start, but it just nose-dived after that. The only positive note was except for Shane in just 1 segement, there were no McMahons around (even though Vince was backstage!) But there were also no Rico, Stevie Richards, or in-ring appearances by Flair or HBK and the show sure could have used their energy and charisma.. Oh well! Can't wait for next Monday - new announce team - new champs and hopefully a whole new direction..lol

Later all..

-Doug
