Tossing Salt - Wrestling News From The Land of The Rising Sun! 10/11/03 by Doug M.

What up, Informants? And welcome to another spine-tingling edition of "Tossing Salt - Wrestling From The Land of The Rising Sun!" Although, maybe I should just shorten it to "Tossing Salt" because I'm starting to branch out and cover more than just Japan? I don't know. I'll think on that. But I'm Doug M. and I'm back with some more international news - just for all the fine folks here at the Wrestling Informer.

I've got some WWE stuff today, the results from the Passport to Pain house show that took plae last night in Cologne, Germany. Plus some news from Japan regarding Hogan/Chono and a possible expansion by NOAH. And match results out the whazoo! So, let's get this party started with:

NEWS:

The WWE Smackdown "Passport to Pain" tour continued last night with a great show in Cologne, Germany. I'm print the results of that card later under "Match Results". And tonite, the WWE superstars will be traveling to Birmingham, England. Tommorow they will be in Manchester, England and then will travel back home to the states to tape Smackdown in Cincinnati on Tuesday night. I hope they're saving those frequent flier miles.

Congrats to Trish Stratus to winning her third consecutive WWE Babe Of The Year over at WWE.com. She narrowly beat out Stacy Keibler in the finals, and will get her own web-site on WWE. com as a result. Just a personal opinion here, because I like Stacy and Trsih fine, but the Babe of the Year to me - this year and any year - will always be my beloved Ivory.

In NOAH news, there is some strong speculation that they are considering setting up an alliance with some local wrestling groups in South Korea in order to expand their following and territory. Nothing is official or official as of yet, but the Noah management seems to feel that South Korea is often neglected by the major Japanese markets and would be a great territory to expand to.

Hulk Hogan versus Masa Chono - and if Hogan wins, Chono will cede his booking powers over to Hogan. That's the stipulation tha t New Japan placed on the Hogan / Chono match scheduled for the 10/13 Toyko Dome show in an effort to increase ticket sales, which have thus far, been very dissapointing. So far, it seems to be working as sales have began to pick up a bit. They still have a ways to go in order to have a sell-out on Monday, but it looks as if things are picking up.

And now, let's move this bad mama-jama over to :
