Tossing Salt - Wrestling from the Land of the Rising Sun 10-01-03

Here's my latest attempt at column writing for the Wrestling Informer. It'll be posted later today, but I figured I'd give all my fellow Degenerates, the Hardyzites, & the folks in the ZONE a sneak peak. Just another day in the life of an internet journalist. Later gators!

What up all, and welcome to one more round of "Tossing Salt"! I'm Doug M. and this is the Wrestling Informer - the best there is, was, and ever will be! But then again, I'm biased. We've got news from Osaka-Pro, a new addition to the New Japan Ultimate Crush 2 show on October 13, at the Toyko Dome, some news from PRIDE and so much more. And match results from all over the great nation of Japan. So, enough stalling on my part. Let's just jump right into it. Start off with:

NEWS:

In New Japan news, another bout has been added to the big "Ultimate Crush 2" show scheduled for 10/13 at the Toyko Dome. This will be a "shoot fight" between Tsuyoshi Koksaka and Ricardo Morais. This joins the other 10 matches already announced including the long awaited match between Masa Chono and Hulk Hogan, as well as a 10 man elimination match, a "royal rumble" style match to determine a new IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, and defenses of the U-30 Openweight Championship and King of Pancrese title as well. All in all, it's really shaping up to truly be a "super-card".

Osaka-Pro has announced the participants of this years "TENNO -ZAN" tournament. It will be single -elimination style. Taking part will be: Takehiro Murahama, Tsubasa, Black Buffalo, Miracle Man, Ebessan, Billy Ken Kid, Tigers Mask, Yutaka Fukuda, Big Boss MA-G-MA, Daio QUALLT, Goa, Kuisnbo Kamen, Pero, Gran Hamada, Azteca, & Gentaru.

PRIDE has added three more matches to the "BUSHIDO" show scheduled for this Sunday, October 5 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitma, Japan. This show will be aired on PPV in the United States on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at a reduced rate of $19.95.

Riji Mitsuoka versus Chris Brennan
Kickboxer Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic versus Dos Caras Jr.

The matches already scheduled for this event are:
Team Japan versus Gracie Family (Best of 5 series)
Renzo Gracie versus Carlos Newton
Ralph Gracie versus Dokonjonosuke Mishima
Daniel Gracie versus Kazuhiro Nakamura
Rodrigo Gracie versus Daiju Takase
Ryan Gracie versus Kazuhiro Hamanaka
Also on the card are:
Mauricio Rya versus Akira Shoji

Veteran luchadore Skayde, the head trainer from the Ultimo Dragon's Toryumon promotion, will be returning to the United States during the weekend of October 18 -19. He will be holding classes teaching mat technique, complex submission holds, and the art of lucha libre to American independant wrestlers. These classes will be held at the Allentown, PA based Chikara Wrestle Factory. Anyone interested in knowing more or possibly attending should e-mail them at chikarawrestling@aol.com and they'll hook you up.
