Smackdown Recap - 9/18/03
Greetings all, and here is the *exclusive* DXSI recap of WWE Smack Down for 9/18/03 - taped from the campus of NC State University in Raleigh, NC..
Tazz and Michael Cole are the announcers.
Here's Vince to start off the show. He plugs the Iron man match tonite between Brock Lesnar & WWE Champion Kurt Angle. And here's the Undertaker. He doesn't respect Vince. He's PO'ed and he doesn't forgive or forget...
Opening montage, some fireworks, and away we go...
Rey Mysterio & Chris Benoit versus Tajiri and Rhyno
Tajiri & Benoit start off - chops by Benoit. Tajiri locks in the tarantula. A big spinebuster by Rhyno. Benoit fights back and lands a suplex on Rhyno. Tag to Rey. A flying elbow and a moonsault and Rey gets 2. Rhyno hits a big powerbomb. Tajiri in and sprays the mist, but hits Rhyno by mistake. A suplex by Benoit. Tajiri is set up and Rey hits the 619. A 619 for Rhyno and Rey hits the dime-drop to get the pin.
Winners: Rey Mysterio & Chris Benoit

Torrie & Nidia w/Dawn marie versus Shaniqua
Shaniqua is accompanied by the Basham Brothers at the start, but sends them to the back. Nidia & Torrie rush Sahniqua. A double baseball slide sends Shaniqua to the floor. Nidia lands some kicks and chops, but Shaniqua with a big powerslam. A clothesline for Torrie. Torrie hits a jawbreaker on Shaniqua and Nidia rolls her up for 2. A double clothesline by Shaniqua sends Torrie and Nidia flying. A slam for Torrie and Nidia gets nailed with a big powerbomb and Shaniqua gets the pin.
Winner: Shaniqua
After the match - Shaniqua attacks Dawn Marie with a big kick and then just tosses her to the floor. A big spear toss into the steel post for Dawn and the amazon walks back to the back, content with the destruction she's caused.
Steph is on the phone. Here's the Vince posse of VInce, Sable, & The Big Show. They do some intimidation and Vince tells Steph to quit. She says she won't quit, so he says he'll have to start getting rough.
A Look at the previous Brock - Kurt matches at Wrestlemania X9 and Summerslam.. They're tied in the series one to one.. (except for House Shows where Kurt is way ahead, but they obviously don't count on the TV show!)
From earlier today, John Cena cuts a rap and says he has plans for next week. lol!
WWE Tag Team Championship Match
Worlds Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)
versus
Los Guerreros (Eddie & Chavo Guerrero)
A great match with Chavito on fire. Lots of double teaming by the WGTT - and some cheating as well by the masters, Eddie & Chavito. In the end, Shelton brings a chair into the ring and swings, but Chavito clips the knee. Shelton rolls to the outside, as he is obviously hurt. Chavo hits a big DDT and a suplex on Haas.. Eddie gets froggy and flies to capture the victory.
New champs and the winners: Los Guerreros.
WWE Smack of the Night: Brock roughs up Steph last week..
All the guys in the back are gathered around moniters to watch the Iron Man match. The APA has a table full of WWE superstars and look to be taking bets on the match.
60 Minute Iron Man match - WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar versus Kurt Angle..
There is no way to call the action in this one, so I'm just going to list the falls.
Brock is DQ'd for bringing a chair into the ring - Fall 1 to Kurt with 51:14 remaining
Brock with the F-5 to get the pin - Series tied 1-1 with 49:37 remaining
Brock with ankle-lock to get the tap out. Series 2- 1 in favor of Brock 47:50 remains
Brock wins by count-out. Series 3 - 1 for Brock. 40:01 remains
Kurt gets pin with angle-slam. Series in now 3-2 Brock. Time remaining is 34:01
Brock scores a pinfall. Series is now 4 - 2 in favor of Brock. 29:28 remains
Brock gets pin following suplex. Series is now 5-2 in favor of Brock.
15:00 remains
Angle gets a pin. Series is now 5 - 3 for Brock with 9:32 remaining.
Not sure quite what happened but Kurt gets a pin. Series is now 5-4 in favor of Brock with
2:40 remaining.
Kurt locks in an anklelock on Brock - Brock hangs on and the time expires. The match is over and Brock wins the series 5 to 4.
